Welcome!
Information

The Burlington Choral Society will begin its 42nd season with an open house to welcome prospective singers and current members to an evening of coffee, refreshments and singing.  Interested members of the public are invited to join in the first practice held on Tuesday September 7, 2010 at 7:30 pm at Port Nelson United Church, 3132 South Drive, Burlington L7N 1H7.  Coffee and refreshments will be served.

"We are always happy to have new members," says Janet Vivian, President of the choir.  Choir members agree wholeheartedly that new members in each section would enhance the music and the fun - exactly what we want.

The Burlington Choral Society was formed in 1968 and has been serving the community and surrounding district ever since.  The mixed voice choir performs in hospitals, retirement and nursing homes, churches, for civic occasions and on the concert stage.  Included in the repertoire are songs from the classics, contemporary, sacred and folk music as well as show-stoppers from Broadway.

Director Robert G. Foote, in his 12th year as Director of The Burlington Choral Society, has been organist and choir director at the Church of St. James the Apostle in Guelph since 1971 where he has written several anthems and mass settings for the choirs.  Of The Burlington Choral Society he says "we are getting better and better at what we do, all the while taking great pleasure in just singing."

Some members of the Burlington Choral Society have a strong musical background, while others have little. What we have in common is a wish to sing, and to sing with pleasure and enthusiasm.  Come and join in an evening of singing on September 7 and stay for the season!
